Neum
Bosnia and Herzegovina's slice of the Adriatic coastline amounts to only 20 kilometers of coastline. The town of Neum is the solitary one situated on that coastline. making it the country's only access to the Adriatic.

Dino Merlin
Edin Dervišhalidović, better known by his stage name of Dino Merlin, is Bosnia’s most famous musician.
Merlin started his career as a mosque’s muezzin, singing calls to prayer. He represented Bosnia in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. and actually wrote the lyrics to Bosnia's first national anthem.
Merlin is not only well known in the Balkans but also around the world especially among the Bosnian diaspora.
Irfan Ljubijankic
Irfan Ljubijankić (1952 – 1995) was a unique renaissance man who was a world caliber facial surgeon, classical music composer, politician and diplomat.
He was a strong proponent of Bosnia's independence and served as foreign minister of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ljubijankić was killed in action in 1995 during the Bosnian War.
Edin Džeko
Edin Džeko is a Bosnian professional football player who stars for the for Serie A club Roma as well as the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. He is the captain of both teams and was awarded as the Bosnian Footballer of the Year for three years running.
His sports nickname is the "Bosnian Diamond" or simply "Diamond". Before joining Roma he played in the UK for Manchester City.
Edin is the UNICEF Ambassador for Bosnia.
Ivo Andrić
Ivo Andrić (1892 – 1975) was a Nobel Prize laureate in literature whose compelling writings focused on life in his native Bosnia under Ottoman rule.
Andrić was actually arrested and sent to prison by the the Austro-Hungarian police, who suspected him for being involved in the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand which precipitated World War I.
One of Andi's most famous works was Na Drini ćuprija (The Bridge on the Drina).
In 1961 he was chosen over other luminaries such as J. R. R. Tolkien, Robert Frost, John Steinbeck and E. M. Forster and awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Cevapi
Cevapi are small, oblong-shaped kebabs made from either lamb or beef. They are often served in somun - Bosnian pita bread)– together with raw onions.
Bosnians eat Cevapi for lunch, dinner, or even as a snack.
The cities of Travnik and Tuzla in Bosnia are known for their ćevapi made of beef stewed with spices.
Bosnian Bean Soup
Grah is a traditional Bosnian bean soup using Peruano beans as the main ingredient. It can be served together with bell peppers, onions and carrots.
Often slow-cooked beef is added to the soup, making it a thick product for a hearty meal; this is called grah i varivah (literally "beans and stews").
The beans are traditionally soaked overnight to ensure the full bean taste.
Tufahija
Another remnant of Ottoman rule in Bosnia is the popular Tufahija, a sweet dessert.
Tufahija starts with an apple boiled in sugar and is then stuffed with walnuts. It is served with syrup and whipped cream in a large glass.
Bosnians enjoy the extremely sweet Tufahija desert together with strong, bitter tasting Bosnian coffee.

Kravice Waterfall
The stunning Kravica waterfall found along the Trebizat is made up of a row of nearly two dozen falls that dramatically plummet 25 meters off a limestone deposit down into deep emerald pools.
Visitors spend an entire day at the waterfalls taking in the thick canopy of moss, figs and poplar trees. Access to the falls is via the scenic walking trails, boat ride or by even swimming right up to the falls.
The Kravice Falls are open from May to October.
Baščaršija
Baščaršija, Sarajevo's old bazaar and the historical and cultural center of the city, is the main tourist attraction of Sarajevo.
Situated along the northern bank of the Miljacka River, Baščaršija is an oriental bazaar, with a maze of narrow streets of small shops.
The history of Baščaršija begins in 1462, when the Ottoman governor Isa-beg Ishaković, of Bosnia, built the equivalent of a roadside service station where travelers could find lodging, food for horses, exchange money, and repair their carts.
The golden period of Baščaršija came in the 17th century, when it contained in excess of one thousand shops covering over eighty different crafts.
Sutjeska National Park
Sutjeska National Park, established in 1962, is the oldest and largest national park in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It includes Maglić the highest peak at over 2,386 meters, found on the border with Montenegro.
It is characterized by exceptional beauty with mild valleys, dense forests and mountain pastures.
Zelengora Mountain boasts eight glacial lakes popularly called “mountain eyes”.
Other stunning attractions includes the deep canyons of Sutjeska, Hrčavka and Jabučnica as well as crystal clear mountain rivers known for their trout.
In the center of the park is the Nature Reserve Perućica one of the the best-preserved and largest rain forests in Europe.
Vrelo Bosne
The Spring of the Bosna river is a public park found at the foothills of the Mount Igman on the outskirts of Sarajevo, the capital.
Vrelo Bosne is the source of the Bosna Rive and one can find a number of lovely lakes full of fish and swans with small green islands.
Vrelo Bosne has been a favorite outing destination for Sarajevans for the past 100 years.
The area is a natural habitat for various plant communities and animal species.
Additionally, six streams from the Vrelo Bosne flow into the Mala Bosna watercourse, which is home to indigenous varieties of river trout.
Vrelo Bosne is the main source for Sarajevo’s “Bačevo” drinking water.
Una National Park
Una National Park borders with the Croatian border not far from Plitvice Lakes National Park.
The park was established to protect the Krka, Unac and Upper Una rivers together with flora and fauna, waterfalls and archaeological sites.
A highlight of visiting Una National Park is Štrbački buk, a stunning 25 meter high terraced waterfall surrounded by viewing platforms; here one can see how the crystal clear water cascades into the pools below.
The area also includes the magnificent Milancev Buk waterfall, a network of walking trails, the Sultan Ahmed I Mosque in historic Kulen Vakuf, and the Serbian-Orthodox Rmanj Monastery.
Jajce
Jajce (pronounced yeit-za), is a picturesque walled city and home of the spectacular Pliva Waterfall, found right smack in the center of town.
The waterfall reaches 17 meters high with its torrent of water created from the convergence of two rivers; it pummels down into a turquoise pool with a powerful force.
Jajce also features outdoor adventure activities at the nearby Pliva Lakes.
The emerald-toned waters are surrounded by lush green hills, and visitors enjoy the boat rides, fishing and swimming.
Old wooden watermills, dating back to the Middle Ages are another popular attraction.
Mostar
Visitors to Mostar enthusiastically enjoy the Stari Most bridge which arches across the Neretva river right in the center of the old town of Mostar.
The bridge was originally built in the 1500's, and was rebuilt in.
It is now looked at as a symbol of peace and national reconciliation.
A visit to Moster always includes time exploring the old town with its unique houses, a war museum, mosques and the city's bazaar.
Mehmed Pasa Sokolovic Bridge
The Mehmed Pasa Sokolovic Bridge across the Drina River in eastern Bosnia was built in the 16th century and earned the distinction of being named a certified UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The stunning bridge has 11 masonry arches of 11 -15 meters, an access ramp at right angles together with four arches on the left side of the river.
The nearly 180 meter long bridge was designed by Sinan, one of the leading architects and engineers of the classical Ottoman period.
Travnik
Travnik was the capital of the Ottoman governors for 150 years, from 1697 to 1850. It was called at that time the European Istanbul.
Visitors today come for Travnik'ss historical city center, a literal open museum of Ottoman architecture with mosques, centuries-old buildings, and Bosnia’s only sundial.
One of the oldest mosque in old town Travnik is Lukacka Dzamija mosque.
A favorite attraction is Travnik Castle, which dates back to pre-Ottoman Bosnia when the former Christian Kingdom ruled the area. The conquering Ottomans later expanded the 14th- or 15th-century castle, transforming it into a fortress with watchtowers.
Sebilj in Sarajevo
The Sebilj is a Ottoman-style wooden fountain in the centre of Baščaršija square in Sarajevo built by Mehmed Pasha Kukavica in 1753. It was relocated by Austrian architect Alexander Wittek in 1891.
